(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); This is not a joke. Multiple news outlets are reporting that Disney has bought LucasFilm, and will release Star Wars Episode 7 in 2015.

Will it star Luke? Anakin? Jar-Jar? We have no clue. All we know is THAT SHIT CRAY.

On top of that? Disney “plans to release a new Star Wars feature film every two or three years for the foreseeable future.”

Not true. Disney has a pretty great record for Sci-Fi and dark movies.

Tron
Tron 2
The Black Hole

Not to mention Marvel is owned by Disney too.

Avengers, Iron Man 3, Thor 2. Happy

cant wait to see the next failure for george lucas maybe he finally realized that the 3D version of the phantom menace
made poor money.. and will get rid of that venture.. hopefully we will see if they can follow with luke leia and han maybe it might be a better effort if they have the kids and luke teaching to bring back the jedi order.. but that might fail now since everyone is old as dirt to bring them back from '77 now to '15 it might become a joke.. harrison ford is what 70....

Disney are not very good at making new IPs so buy it up. Some parts of the company are good at it but the main group no longer has that touch.

Should be intersting to see what happens.

There's not really much "new" that can be done these days. Vampires is played out. Werewolves are part of that (and Teen Wolf...ugh). Pirates are overdone now. Decades of ninjas and karate movies. Sci-Fi's just about dried up with anything new it can offer too.

Star Wars is a really old and really good series to bank on. Even after the last three HORRIBLY done movies, Star Wars still has one of the strongest fan-bases in the world, not to mention the largest movie-based charity group in the world with the 501st Legion.

I can't think of any other movie or tv show that has as big a loyal following besides Star Wars.

So it's just natural they'd pick this up as soon as they could. Even as failures, the last three Star Wars movies STILL made a ton of money.
