(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So Colorado has now legalized the sale of Marijuana. What are your opinions? I think its all right. I believe not that it's legalized, some teens will stop using it because its not "cool" anymore.

Federal law DOES trump state law. That is why Californian dispensaries can be raided by the DEA, and the state officials can't intervene.

I think this is a step in the right direction. Having it occur in more that one state simultaneously also gives the movement more credibility. The MEDICAL marijuana industry in these states could see some negative effects though.

I think it's one step closer to other states doing the same thing eventually, then after that Federal law. Smile

About damn time! It's still illegal per federal law, but the regulation by 2 state governments is a huge step in the right direction. Hopefully it will make it's way east to Detroit; the city could really use something to increase it's revenue, and marijuana legalization in the D would create jobs (dispensaries, etc), tourism, and other unseen effects. I would be quite pleased utie:

Yea. Then just south to Indiana. If Michigan were to legalize it, Indiana would have two options. 1. Legalize it themselves. Or 2. Set up a border patrol and arrest anyone coming to Indiana for being high. Personally I like 1.

I'm happy that Marijuana got legalized on the state level in Colorado and Washington but I just wish more states had it on that ballot this year.

Hopefully more states in the Union start legalizing it and eventually overthrow the Controlled Substance Act and it's stance on marijuana. Also whoever said that Federal Law doesn't trump State Law, you're wrong. Federal Law does trump state law unless the Federal Law is unconstitutional. :p

With the war on drugs a failure, this is good new/bad news.
As long some form of control in place along with a social safety net, for people I see no problem with it. Need strong education too to make sure you don't get people abusing it and nothing to help them.
Once you open the flood gates you need to make sure you are ready for it effects.

It nice to see the US moving towards the centre ground over centre right.
