A Subaru Impreza WRX.. could find one for around $10k U.S. if you look hard enough and come stock with around 230 HP. That's all stock, stock turbo.. but that car has serious modification potential.

Like 420 said. I'd go with a Subaru WRX. I personally like the car because of the sexy Subaru blue and body styling plus most used Subaru's are reasonably priced. I just hate the ones that people rag out and trash and try selling them for over $10k.

I have a WRX '05.. Not the world rally blue, a pearl white one. It's one hell of a ride but I'm ready to buy an 07 STi, but still need more money. I'm loving this car and the engine sound is so sexy lol I got it for $13k used, wasn't trashed, no frame damaged, stock, supre clean. I got lucky when I came across it.
