(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Since I'm from the US, I only tend to care about the US (unless multinational important events occur elsewhere). So with that, it's safe to say 75% are (in blatant terms) idiots.

As most, or all of you know, there's been the notorious 2012 "world-ending" hoax. Is it just the US, or is the world filled with morons (again, nicest way I can put it)? We were talking about it in English today, and I learned half of my class were borderline retards. It was sad I saw what I did in an honors class.

Some kid raised his hand (later called on by the teacher) and talked about how he heard that the world was definitely ending on December 21, 2012. He also said that "the Jews" and some other dumb-ass name he had for a group for people had already taken maneuvers to try and escape this catastrophe.

Being the smart man I thought he was, my teacher then said "Uhhhh... what's your source for this? I read the paper every day and if it was legitimate I definitely would of heard about it." The kid followed up by exclaiming "Oh some channel."

At that moment, I was amazed how stupid some of them were, but that wasn't it. I of course had to say something, so I told my teacher the word "gullible" was written on the roof above him; he silently laughed. Then, he said to the class "Did you know that the word 'gullible' wasn't in the dictionary?"

Being an English class, there were dictionaries under every desk. I think you can infer what half of the class did at that point.

Seriously, just sad.

My question to those of you located outside of the US is as follows: Are there as many world-ending believers (retards) where you live? Are they just as gullible?

Edit: I apologize for using the word "retard"; as this is just a rant, I mean no offense.

In Flames Much?
Education teaches you a lot of things and makes you learn a lot of tool sets.
A couple you won't get until you go into further education ,which is why a large percent of the population lack quite important tool sets.
One is checking information , who saying it and why, who set up the study etc.
As you don't learn that tool until a late age or at all , it no wonder why some people are so gullible.
It's a good reason why the education system should be highly flexibly over a set exam based model.

I asked this question to someone a long time ago, his answer was something along the line of- "Most people in the world are stupid, but you learn to live with them" or something. Yes it is sad, but that is how we are trained to be unfortunately- no one actually teaches you how to be moderately intelligent, you have to learn it yourself.

Real talk tho, i think you can learn how to be stupid/ignorant as well, due to the behavior of others around you- or the information that you are being exposed to. So stay away from dumb stuff, and it should infect COUGH i mean affect* your mind less and less, and you can be able to think more clearly for yourself with no problems.

Also- i live with an idiot, and i lecture people on dumb stuff all the time, and can you believe they are prepared to argue with me about something they are clearly in the wrong about? Totally professional.
