Some of my family traditions are on Christmas Eve, since I was little, you get 2 gifts, a pair of PJ's and a tree ornament.
The kids get in their PJ's and drink a Hot Chocolate, then we get in the car and drive around the neighborhood looking at the Christmas lights.
Many families line their side walks with candles in a brown paper bag on Christmas eve and it is very pretty to see a whole neighborhood done with those.
When we get back we put out the milk and cookies for Santa and write him a note, then sit around the tree and my wife reads the night before christmas.
We get them up to bed and put the gifts under the tree.
My favorite time is early Christmas morning, When I get up before everyone and turn on the lights, get the fireplace ready to light, turn on the christmas music, eat Santa's cookies and reply to their Note. and then I wait for the house to wake up. Nothing better than hearing your kids voices as they wake up and get ready to come downstairs. I light the fire and get the camera ready and take a picture of them on the steps before they come down.
The rest of the day is a blur of wrapping paper, batteries, instruction booklets followed by a big dinner with family.
There is not quite another day like Christmas the rest of the year, and I hope all of yours is fun and memorable.
