Holiday Traditions

As Requested by NeedaLifeSoon I will make this thread to bring us all together to share what we do during the Holidays. No matter if it's Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanza we all come together at this time of year with our families.

I'll start first. Usually me and my family sit in the living room and we light the menorah. Each night we open up a present and thank each other for our happiness. This year my mom needed emergency surgery so none of that happened. I got a couple of presents including elite but it wasn't the same. Just shows you how important family really is.

So share what your holiday traditions will be. Have a Merry Christmas and Hope Everyone had a Happy Hanukkah. Kwanza is also awesome!!!!

Sincerely and Love,

Christmas Eve and we'd get my sister home, have a nice dinner and sit in front of the fire and watch a Christmas movie, get some nice sweets etc..
Christmas morning I'd wake up to a nice cup of tea and a heated chocolate quason. Wait till the rest of the family wake up and have their Breakfast, then open the presents!
Boxing day, my mum, sister and I head down to my mums parents (dad doesn't get along with them) and spend the day with them. Smile

These days our family usually spends Christmas on vacation. It's become a tradition since me and my siblings have gotten older.

Some of my family traditions are on Christmas Eve, since I was little, you get 2 gifts, a pair of PJ's and a tree ornament.
The kids get in their PJ's and drink a Hot Chocolate, then we get in the car and drive around the neighborhood looking at the Christmas lights.
Many families line their side walks with candles in a brown paper bag on Christmas eve and it is very pretty to see a whole neighborhood done with those.

When we get back we put out the milk and cookies for Santa and write him a note, then sit around the tree and my wife reads the night before christmas.
We get them up to bed and put the gifts under the tree.

My favorite time is early Christmas morning, When I get up before everyone and turn on the lights, get the fireplace ready to light, turn on the christmas music, eat Santa's cookies and reply to their Note. and then I wait for the house to wake up. Nothing better than hearing your kids voices as they wake up and get ready to come downstairs. I light the fire and get the camera ready and take a picture of them on the steps before they come down.

The rest of the day is a blur of wrapping paper, batteries, instruction booklets followed by a big dinner with family.

There is not quite another day like Christmas the rest of the year, and I hope all of yours is fun and memorable. Smile
