I personally am unable to choose cos i haven't played American football, and don't know any of the rules.

Actually, i really would love to, and ive already said that i have only played rugby, and not football, so i cant decide.

They wear shoulder pads... Also big woop rugby players only wear a gum shield and shin pads.. ALSO IM ENGLISH, i may also be british but id prefer it if i was called english thx.. Oh and rugbys more physical (your head still appears to be attached to your body...) Winky Winky

Actually, football is more violent. If you don't wear a helmet and get tackled and fall on your head, odds are that you might die. In rugby, you can only hit if you have the ball, and most times from the front, so it lets you to protect yourself. In football, you can get hit from either way, even if you don't have the ball.

Rugby FTW!! Much more lethal, Americans may say WTF Dude American Football is way more lethal but what they havent noticed is that they have big sets or armour to protect them in rugby its just a t-shirt and shorts

I voted Rugby, but it is pretty obvious that Americans are going to say Football and that football is more lethal just like the British are going to say Rugby is better and is more lethal. That is common sense and seeing as though there are more Americans on here than any other nationality the poll will end up as Football.

I'm not flaming but do you think Football would be as violent if they didn't wear pads? Would they be allowed to spear tackle other players? Probably not, that's why in Rugby they are not allowed to slam someone to the ground. Both sports are violent for the protection they have however.
