If I was a dictator I'd want to run a communist country, I currently hate with a passion corporations they have far to much power and pretty much control the government making everything state owned and distributing things evenly would be far better and as one we could work together to achieve great things. With greedy corporations all they ever work for is more money to put away in there back pockets.

As a normal human being that has no chance of running a communist dictatorship I settle for democracy so at least I have a say.... lel I wish I had a say really one person in this day an age can't ake a difference unless they have lots of money behind them.

How are we comparing a form of economy to a form of government?

Well that is too bad... I was hoping to correct Uncle HOU, in that Hitler was a Facist, who ran a Totalitarian Dictatorship.
But he was obviously removed.
Oh well

ehh this is a badly worded question. I mean it's not one or the other. I mean you have liberalism, conservatism, communism, socialism, nazism, facism. It's not just black and white as you say it is.

While I understand this is a debate about Communism vs Democracy, I think it would be much more prudent to be called 'Socialism vs Democracy'.

Communism is solely a political ideology, whereas democracy is both a political and economic one. Socialism is also political and economic ideology, so it would be much fairer in a comparative political sense to debate socialism in place of communism.

Communism is perfect as a political concept, but due to the inherent narcissism and selfishness of the human species, no-one will ever act in a way that it truly communist; they will be in it for themselves. This is especially true with the people in governmental power. All it takes is one and the rest will act similarly.

Democracy also never works ideally because in ANY political ideology the people at the top will always be searching for more power/money/success/influence.

Call me a sceptic, I class it as realism.

Why do you prefer socialism, if I may ask? Communism and Socialism don't really work. They've been tried in the past, and have been tried throughout Europe, and has proven to fail time and time again. Socialism focuses on massive redistribution of wealth, and it involves taking money away from those who employ people and give it to those who do not work. Treating everyone equally economically is more unfair than treating them as individuals.

Do a barrel roll!
I honestly believe both systems have proved to be failures. Communism with its historical turn to dictatorships. Democracy linked to capitalism which is a failure. Our whole economical system is based on unlimited growth on a planet with finite resources, why don't more people see the big problem here ?

I really believe in the future (100s of years from now, if humans are still around) this will be looked upon as one of the darkest chapters in human history.
