I've owned couple different brands and lasted 2 years or less, this time i went with Sony Bravia 32" and also i own 46", its been 5 years since i owned them so far so good no problems. Try not to buy JVC or Phillips they dont last long.

I've been liking my Samsungs. I used to have a Sony Bravia and was one of the first people to apparently "return" it because I just didn't like it.

I'd go shopping around Best Buy and see what you would like because ultimately it is all up to you which TV you end up buying :p

Go for LG or Samsung imo
As for the model that depends on your budget and if you were after 3d, led, lcd, plasma and so on
