Basketball is pretty much the same pace as soccer. So is hockey. Also, if you actually watched a football game you would know that there's not much of a delay between plays. Sometimes none at all. Of course more money is going to be invested in soccer. It's the most popular sport in the world (I have to admit, soccer is VERY popular). Let me put it like this, the population of the United States is 313,914,040 (2012 estimate). The world population, minus the United States, is 6,659,824,393 (2011 estimate). So which amount of people do you think is going to have more money? Both sports have excellent athletes so I can't say anything about that. There are people who live a breath soccer. However, they're are people who do the same with football.

I've seen good soccer games. It's definitely a great sport. However, have you ever saw a good football game? I'm not saying one is better than the other, I'm just stating my opinion & backing it up.
I've seen a couple a football games hence how i created an opinion on it. Now, you admitted that hockey, basketball, and football all have a similarity; which is the lack of pauses. To
me, a sport should have little-no pauses. Moreover, a lot of investments come from back wards countries (not to offend you middle eastern brahs) based on the countries money/oil. Therefore, please don't use population as an excuse. Finally, the u.s does have a league the MLS.
