(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I am looking to get a new dog. I have grown up with dogs my whole life and trained a few as well. However I am looking for a new dog breed that will be a good fit. I go on long runs to stay in shape and live near a park so exercise is not too big of an issue. However I am worried what dog breed would be ok with being left alone for several hours as there would be nobody home to take care of it, everyone is either at school or at work.I would like some ideas and information on some breeds that might fit my life style.

Breeds I have been looking at are:
Corgis
Boarder Collies, although the long hours alone might be too much for this breed
Siberian Husky, same concern as above
German Shepard, although I see too many of these at work ha ha
Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier, grew up with this breed
Or a Alaskan Malamute

These are just the ones I have been thinking of if you have any information or advice please share your response.

it really shouldnt matter what dog other people think you should get, its like choosing some to live with you. you have to go by your heart and pick the one you think will make you the happiest, when i got my dog(boxer), it was the first one that came up to me out of about 7 different dogs. Thats how i knew she was the one Smile

German sheppard, alaskan malamute and siberian husky. However i live in florida so it's hot as fuck year round so i'd probably have to relocate lol.

You should probably go between an alaskan malamute or siberian husky... I'm sure the husky could last awhile if you train it good enough.

Whatever you do, don't get a pekingese. Holy sht. My sister got one and we've had him for a couple years, but damn, he barks at anyone and anything that walks past our house. Super annoying and embarassing, idk if it's just ours but dang. And the thing is, no matter what we do he doesn't change. If I were to get a dog though, it would be a German Shepherd or a Golden/Labrador Retriever, awesome dogs.
