I just want to know who here decides to join any of the United States services or is in the services. My main focus for this post is what I should be expecting within the next few years.

Now I'm 16, and have talked with recruiters, once I turn 17 I'll be in the reserves (only go to war if I'm needed,) then when I turn 18 and graduate high school I'll go straight to the active duty and shipped across seas. Next year may seem like a long time, but when you're thinking about putting your life on the line for freedom time flies.

I will be doing training next summer for 2 months, during that time I will be learning the basics on how to be a soldier and how to lose my fear of everything, and to have courage.

I've started working out, I was underweight (110) I have to be 130 lbs by October, I'm now 115 lbs from working out and eating healthier.

What have you done to prepare yourself for this huge choice in your life? Or what did you do?

I really wouldn't have picked this site for your post. To be honest, after seeing all of the arguments over which is a better branch of the military, I don't think any of the feedback you get will be helpful enough to actually make any impact on your personal decision, if it does, more power to you, and good luck with your future endeavors, old friend.

The following user groaned Jeremy for this awful post:

I honestly don't give "#2shitz" what people say negative on here, that's really all it is, 4chan trolls. Ruined everything.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.

But for real though, I know I'm not the only one on here thinking of future life changes.
