Post: Name of this section.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Simply put, it seems to switch between two names constantly. I probably wouldn't notice but it's throwing off my bookmark and making it invalid, so I figured out of curiosity we could see which name the community prefers. Vote in the poll above!

I like Debate Section better. It's more obvious about what it is; you could really have an intellectual discussion about anything.

I kinda like Intellectual Discussion over Debate Section. Keeps a little bit of the trolls out. I always see things like "PS3 SUX", "CRAPBOX 36O" or "PIZZ on Wii" without really any valid reason behind it.

Some folks feel in a debate that their response wins the point of an argument but you have an Intellectual Discussion there will be a show of who can really use their brains and fingers to exercise a good thought.

Not really botherd but both Intellectual discussion and Debate are fine names. As long as the topic of threads doesn't specifically have to be a debate though I'm okay with the name change. If I can just dump an article in here about the LHC or something in the news and get a discussion going it's okay.

Why not have the name as Intellectual Discussion/Debate Section

Yeah, I think that's a valid point. The word 'intellectual' kept most of the crap out, but unfortunately certain bits slipped through the cracks anyway(see: Toilet Paper vs Wet Wipes).

I personally like "Intellectual Discussion" better because it's more broad and keeps the mature theme we want in here. Sometimes people just want to discuss more serious topics without necessarily debating about them.

Not necessarily, not everyone has the standard capabilities to be able to converse intellectually with another, so it is only limited to those who can do said statement.
