Your not going to get much help if you don't show the whole problem. Otherwise giving the answer choices and partial questions won't result in much of anything. We would need the pictures that go with the problem for example on the walking path one.

I have to agree with zVirus... I checked this post out to see if I could help.
But you are not giving the whole equation, missing the diagrams, lead-in story etc.

As far as the answer sheet... short of paying for it, or stealing your teachers copy... not likely you will find it online for free.

I'm in an Engineering Major. Of course, I have no time to solve a whole book for you, but if you get stuck on a certain question or topic, drop me a PM and will help you.

And of course I do not need Vbux or anything off you. Cheers.

Hey I got the answer for you.

"page 72 question 2 a rectangle has an area of 36 m2.
which dimensions will ensure that the rectangle has the minimum perimeter
a. 6m by 6m b. 9 m by 4 m c. 12 m by 3m d. 18m by 2m"

The area of a rectangle is length x width right? And perimeter of a rectangle is (2 x length) + (2 x width).

The area of the rectangle is 36m2. There's lots of ways to get 36m2. But you gotta pick from A, B, C, or D. Since perimeter is 2 times the length and 2 times the width, then you're gonna have to multiply everything by 2 to get the perimeter, and the lowest one is the answer.

A) Length = 6m
Width = 6m
Perimeter = [(2 x 6m) + (2 x 6m)] = 24m

B) Length = 9m
Width = 4m
Perimeter = [(2 x 9m) + (2 x 4m) = 26m

C) Length = 12m
Width = 3m
Perimeter = [(2 x 12m) + (2 x 3m)] = 33m

D) Length = 18m
Width = 2m
Perimeter = [(2 x 18m) + (2 x 2m)] = 40m

The answer would be "A) 6m x 6m" because it's the lowest perimeter.
