No sorry, that's not how it works. I don't even have to watch the video to know what I'm getting into. It's clear that it's a very liberally bias source on the so called economy. Economics is not a class you can master in university. We are the economy, to believe that the economic is a mere circular flow like modern day Keynesian's paint it is just untrue. Just looking at the comments, the likes, I can already see what I'm going up against by even posting this. People posting things like:

In response to the video, how do I feel about it? Well, good. I feel good knowing that if I went to school and got a good education, that I will be achieving a better salary. I know that I'm not entitled to a good salary, I have to go out and get one for myself. I can't go blaming the rich and the government for giving me a shitty job when I'm applying to work with a high school degree. What happens then? I go and blame the rich? "Boo rich people they're so greedy, they don't do anything booo".

Riddle me this. How many people do you think the world's richest people employ? Steve Jobs and Bill Gates for example. Let's forget about (even the so called "asshole" Donald Trump employs thousands at his hotels around the planet) and the other rich people who own successful companies. Google, Samsung, Sony, Amazon, I mean this list could go on forever.

Now, should we penalize them? Should we treat them like garbage? Should we hurl insults at them whenever we can? Logic would say no, but so many people do. They don't truly understand what a free market even means. They want to just tax and tax and tax. The whole reason these people got to where they are today is the exact thing the current governments around the planet are trying to get away from, and that's competition. Public this public that. Discourage the private sector where they are the most efficient. Mark up prices for gas, school and the whole load now that there's no more competition. Is this what we want? I noticed in the video that the so called dreaded "socialism" meant that all wealth was distributed "evenly". I almost fell out of my chair laughing at how people still believe that's what socialism is. Do you know what socialism is? It's not say, for example paying everyone $100,000 a year. It's paying everyone $10,000 a year. That's also "equal" but it's not the same principle. Not to mention rations, propaganda, no more rights, censorship etc.

More regulations mean less overall economic growth and less competition. I can't even begin to describe what true socialism is like, since I've seen what it can do to a great nation first hand. I guess you could have called me a liberal a few years ago. Then I took my free time and studied from Austrian economics. I realized that the Keynesian model is what has been tried, and continuously failed over the years around the planet. It hasn't worked and it will not work. I'd suggest that you take a look at Murray Rothbard, F.A. Hayek or Milton Friedman. Even people like Ronald Reagan were former liberals.

So back to the distribution problem. I do think it's a problem, but not a government problem. It's a people problem. And while I know that there are certain instances in which people are not able to work, and are not able to learn properly. But no one said they shouldn't be taken care of. I highly doubt that all of the unemployed people are not working because they are disabled. It's in the hands of the people with what they want to do with their lives. Saying that "distribution of wealth" is unfair is just an excuse. I know that if I flunk school and go on welfare it's not going to be the rich people's fault they're making millions. They deserve it. They don't deserve the flack they get.

That's funny you said what you said in your first 2 sentences of your post because...after I read that I didn't read anymore of your post, either.

You know, you're probably making some interesting points, also. And honestly, I'd probably be siding with you. But when you say, "I don't even need to look at the video"...yeah. Not really open for debate on this viewpoint made by the OP, are you? Just looking for people to agree with you. Sounds good...*rolls eyes*

Some great points made there Millz, on your point about regulation placed on business you just have to take a look at the Eurozone, small businesses are closing by the day and those that aren't are shifting their business and workforce to the likes of China and India where they don't have the heavy burden of more taxation and regulatory factors including environment and production that are being piled on them through EU legislation. Of course the cheap labour also comes hand in hand with that too.

It's a problem and needs to be addressed over the US debt problem. Should be done by government programs along with the rich doing more for the poor. You would be a fool to say the government does not have a role in fixing this. Inequality has effects on the economy to it lowers your growth along with creating some nasty social problems.

They only have a role in fixing this because big government caused this. Winky Winky

Edit: And I lol'd at this: You must login or register to view this content.

Nice top comment. I doubt these people even know what Stalin was responsible for. The mass genocide of twice as many people Hitler killed. The starvation, the censorship. The massive redistribution of wealth? Extreme poverty? If I had a gun to my head and I had to choose between that and death, pull the trigger please. Is this what people really want?

(Not directed at you RTS, just couldn't double post Winky Winky)

Winky Winky Big government is not the cause but too small.
You must login or register to view this content.

Shows you the impact it has , what's worse is the damage it does to the overall health of the economy. Inequality societies should have more government and higher taxes. Reailty is low social mobility causes less innovation holds back growth.
Not sure about you but I hate that just where you are born holds you back.
Just need to find the balance which suits your area.

A small increase in the minimum wage for example would help. At the same time create more jobs. Need to find the link backing that up off a couple economists.

Also that image did make me laugh :p

With a response Winky Winky

Even people like Ron Paul who advocate smaller government:

As for increasing the minimum wage. You can provide economists opinions, and so can I. I doubt that the minimum wage would actually increase jobs, as it would force companies to pay more money to those who have little to no education. Obviously they'd have to account for that, either through higher product costs (which will affect everyone) or through just straight up firing people.
