(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Let's rewind to 2008. There was a Houston Rockets that was on a 22 game win streak. Their streak was snapped in a dominant, blow out fashion (97-74). The game was played on 3/18.

Fast forward to modern day, and the Miami Heat are on a 22 game win streak. Tomorrow is 3/18 and they play a Celtics team that still has Paul Pierce, Doc, and KG.

Here's why we will beat these cowards:

1. The Avery Bradley factor:

Without a doubt the best on ball, perimeter defender. This guy is a defensive freak. Literally every marquee matchup, he ends up making his oppositions' night a living hell, holding almost everyone to below their season averages. Avery Bradley has played 20+ minutes against Miami, four times in his career. The Celtics are 4-0 in those games. Dwyane Wade sat out one of those games for rest, but has played in the other three - and been completely neutralized by Bradley.

2. Welcome to the Jungle

The Celtics have generally been a dominant home court team. The first half of this season has been different, but since Rondo went down, we haven't lost at home. Oh and just to let you know, we started our 11 game home winning streak against the Heat in January.

3. Defense

Our defense was shaky earlier in the year but is now again one of the league's bests. KG and Avery Bradley are both lead candidates for defensive player of the year and the rest of the team is playing good D as well. We won't the beat the Heat in a shootout but we will if we smother them on the other end. Here's what Tracy McGrady said after the Celtics ended their 22 game winning streak:

Bradley and Garnett have historically dominated Wade and Bosh defensively. Lebron will get his buckets but Paul Pierce and Jeff Green will D him up as much as possible. It's really about containing Lebron and shutting everyone else down which we can do.

4. Bench

Our bench is one of the most versatile and deadly in the NBA. We have Jason Terry, Jordan Crawford, Jeff Green, Terrence Williams. If these guys come to play tomorrow along with our defense, the Heat don't stand a chance.

5. All Good Things Come to an End

The Heat won't streak forever and in a way, it'd be good for them to lose tomorrow. They've been on overdrive the last few weeks trying to keep this win streak alive which is fatiguing them for the playoffs. They only need like 3 or 4 more wins to clinch the #1 seed anyways so no need to get players killed in the quest of a streak. Everything is set up for the perfect storm tomorrow with the 22 game streak and the date.

The Celtics are coming to play.

Damn, tough loss but lots good things in the future. Seeing us up 17 against the Eastern Conference Allstar team showed what we're capable of. Not to mention Rondo, KG, and Sully didn't play. Although we lost, there's a lot to look forward to. Jeff Green and Avery Bradley are two young studs on the rise, we got the great rookie Jared Sullinger returning next year along with #9, and we'll probably sign Josh Smith and a good center this offseason. If we can stay healthy next year, it's over for Miami.

I did really want to see a win tonight though. Would have been insane to stop TWO 22 game win streaks on March 18th from the same team. Proud of our guys though. We'll get em next time.

Getting Josh Smith wouldn't necessarily mean "its over" for Miami. While Miami doesent have a lot of spare money, Im sure they can make tier 2 FA signings. Also, dont forget every time Battier/Haslem covers J-Smoove they have locked him down.

Sike, if anything they'll lose a star. They will be victims of the new CBA's luxury tax rule. The Miami big 3 will disband soon.

The Celtics getting 2 good big men would instantly put us in champion favorites group. And whether it's Josh Smith or not, I can't imagine Ainge not going for good post players this offseason.

Well, if one of the big 3 go, we all know who it is. My pet VeBoshiraptor, Which would be unfortunate, but it might have to happen. And while he is abit older, and not the most athletic guy, Birdman is by no stretch a bad player.

I'd actually expect Bosh to stay and Wade to go. Big men are so much more valuable, not to mention he's 3 years younger. Wade will have about 2-3 good years left.
