(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Why do you think so many (maybe it's a vocal few) feel compelled to look for ridiculas explanations for well documented events?

They seem perfectly willing to ignore logic and facts to believe some explanation invented by the modern Internet troll. They will choose to believe random Internet reports that are fabricated or doctored by a few, yet ignore the national and international reporting agencies?

How can anyone believe that money hungry news agencies wouldn't turn on each other for reporting false news, if they could make an extra buck?

Or the "government people/secret societies" that are blamed for these conspiracies, wouldn't tell all for the millions they could get if they talked later ?

Some that are conspiracy believers seem intelligent enough, so what causes them to believe in theories that are so clearly fabricated??

Worth the Weight
International news corporations are filtered and bias. I can't say that trusting them for a source of information is very credible, however to suggest that incompetent governments who cannot get their own economy straight could be able to mask things of such nature is baffling. There is solid evidence of many "conspiracy theories" being completely fabricated. I can't say that I blame people anymore though, since many countries have education controlled by the government it should be no surprise that people no longer take logic and default to only believing what they want to hear, but I digress.

The fact of the matter is that a lot of the people who believe in conspiracy theories do not get any of their information from credible sources. They get them from sketchy 240p YouTube videos which are half words half edited clips along with words. If people fall for those things then I would not call them intelligent. There are a few people like you mentioned who are in fact people that have looked into these issues, however they are simply using facts that are not from credible sources. They read into "specialists" who claim certain things while those specialists don't really use every single bit of detail in their calculations. I think you can tell what I am referring to with regards to that, and I don't want to bother naming any conspiracy theories in my post. I honestly have a difficult time taking anyone as an intellect when they openly and loudly proclaim their belief in conspiracy theories.

Honestly debating with conspiracy theorists is like debating with a lot of people actually. When you throw facts and data in your face they immediately and swiftly claim that it's all "BS" and "That's wrong because my theory is much more credible with all of my years of studying things completely unrelated to this topic". Similarly to the quote in my signature, it's really just time to let these people rant and rave all they want, they cannot be convinced and will always voice loud and stupid opinions based on no facts and evidence whatsoever. They'll also try saying excessively vague things that are based off of ideas etc. Try to not let it bother you at all, anyone who bothers to respond with a page long essay about how a certain thing was an inside job, or how this caused that shouldn't expect a response.

It's fun to think about conspiracy theories. However, they shouldn't be serious UNLESS there's a lot of facts and logic that prove that they are true.

Because some conspiracy theories hold a great deal of evidence which forces you to believe they are true

Do a barrel roll!
Most conspiracy theorists I've come across are uneducated and lack critical thinking skills. They seem to get sucked into all kinds of crap eg Rihanna and Jay Z are Illuminati, REALLY ?

Then theres holocaust deniers, 9/11ers etc which are just downright despicable. I can understand people who question their government and everyone should. But if you think the US faked the moon landing, I feel sorry for you.

Humans always try to look for patterns. It why we have belief systems like religions, conspiracy theories are just another form of it.
Lack of transparency from some goverments feeds into it, the amount of spin is another factor. People forget that most news networks throw in opinions on top of the news in order to sell it product.
All add into the need for conspiracy theories. Irony is people who come up with these conspiracy theories also are in it for the money.

We need to start having signs saying opinions and fact on the news.

This whole thread smacks of conspiracy!
Sounds to me like a thread designed to spread more lies to the masses, that conspiracies do not exist.
Illuminati, neo-con, alien race propaganda is what this is!!!!!

Now where did I leave my telescope... I was watching Planet X when I was rudely interrupted by this! Winky Winky

I think it's mostly because everyone has different logic's and strategics about past events like the 9/11 bombing.
