This kid is 18 years old and he is a sophomore because he dropped out in his previous high school endeavors. Going back to school because his mother who is a teacher in a different school in Texas somewhere encouraged him to go back. He said it himself that he values/appreciates his education now, acknowledging that without a proper education you will struggle in life. I can tell that this teacher doesn't care and is lackluster at best. The only "wrong" thing he did was tell his teacher off during class in front of everyone instead of talking to her after class in private or talking with school administration. I feel for the guy as I went to a really shitty high school and had some horrible teachers during my time there.

tl;dr - That teacher is lazy, the kid is a previous high school dropout who values education now, i went to a shitty high school :ha!::ha!:
