The city was active 1,200 years ago and as time passed, it disappeared under the Mediterranean sea.

They found excessive amounts of treasures down there including Gold coins and bronze which shows the money they traded on the Mediterranean sea.

The city was the main port for trading in the late Ancient Egyptian economy. You could find Greek and Phoenician money and items there. Heracleion is named after Helen and Troy or Hercules who had visited the city before.

Pretty interesting I guess? :p Could've been global warming that caused the city to sink overtime.

Based on the fact its location would mean an increase in sea level mixed with a decline in the heights goodbye city!
And to think the UK version of Atlantis is Dunwich stare
