Online passes, the attempt by many game developers to prevent people from buying used games and other types of games for years - however, according to a report by You must login or register to view this content., EA will no longer be having online passes.

EA - The publisher of multiple famous games such as Madden, Fifa, Dead Space, and of course, Battlefield. According to VentureBeat, an EA spokes person known as John Reseburg, said the following:

None of our new EA titles will include that feature.

Referring to the Online Passes of course; Reseburg admitted that EA will no long have Online Passes:

Initially launched as an effort to package a full menu of online content and services, many players didn’t respond to the format. We’ve listened to the feedback and decided to do away with it moving forward.

Ubisoft, Sony, and other game developers have not commented on doing away with Online Passes at this time. What do you think this means? Will other Game Developers & Publishers do away with Online Passes as well in the future?

I could see you doing that Alt. :p I'm so glad they're getting rid of them. They never even should have been implemented in the first place.

Good move if the whole industry does it, all we need now is the following.

Cheaper games on release
AA games based on game engines released at a smaller price point along wth being smaller but AA quality. Blood dragon is a good example loads of room for a new IPs to grow.
No more DRM.

This is amazing news! I fucking hate those stupid online passes. It's a pain in the ass to put in all the time. I hated EA so much for this now they got rid of it. Happy as shit.

Do a barrel roll!
Good to hear this! Saving money buying preowned games is good, but playing with guys that just screw around in servers is very bad. lol Most of them come from that place. they buy preowned and don't even care about the game. It's a minority but still. At least it look like numbers of them dropped since online passwords were introduced.
