Don't think this thread is inappropriate just a question that I may possibly write about in the near future to support a petition for a friend of mine Smile

It actually is a gateway drug. I've studied marijuana in health class and there are studies reporting that it has been a gateway drug to many young adult users.

And who says marijuana isn't addicting? Any drug can be addicting.

It could be construed as addictive, and lead to more powerful substances, but on its own its relatively harmless Smile

Have you ever done it? No, so don't act like you know all about it when all you've taken is a school class where 90% of what they say is outdated information and lies.

You must login or register to view this content.

Read all that and learn.

If a school class gives "outdated and false information", then what's the point of education? :dumb:

And just because I've never had marijuana doesn't mean I don't know jack shit about it. Anyhow, as I stated before, I am not a drug user therefore I am completely against any drug and personally I think marijuana is bad.

There goes my opinion.

Ok well first of all, correlation does not mean causation. For instance (depending on the study) anywhere from 40-60% of the population admits to once smoking Marijuana, you think all those people do hard drugs? Hell no, the percentage is somewhere from 1-2%. Correlation does not mean causation because I can guarantee you that all hardcore druggies breathe oxygen, you see how stupid that is? You've read biased and outdated studies in your state funded education, good job bro, I've actually done legit studies in college according to this subject and the percentage of marijuana users that have tried harder drugs is anywhere from 5-10% with 1-2% claiming Marijuana as the cause. A real gateway drug is when for instance someone (and this happens to a lot of drug users) is seriously injured, gets prescribed morphine, get's addicted, gets taken off morphine, and is forced to buy an alternative such as heroin. That is a real gateway drug. And what people mean by marijuana not being addicting is that it is not physically addicting, only mentally, and even that is incredibly weak. Marijuana is not physically addicting because unlike drugs like heroin and cocaine, the CBDs and THC are stored in fat (which is why it can stay in your system for months at a time.) What this means is if you stop cold turkey, you're body over time will go through those stored CBDs and THC, lowering physical dependence.

Well ok then, I guess I was wrong.

However, I still am on the negative side for drugs and think badly of marijuana. Thanks for proving me wrong. Smile

Marijuana isn't like other drugs. It's a natural plant. I don't think it's good for you but I also don't think it's bad for you. Personally, I'm very open-minded and I accept the fact that everyone has their own view on life and they can live it any way they want. If they want to get high then let them, it's their choice. Unless it's your family or friends that are into drugs then you shouldn't even be remotely concerned.
