Hey guys, So I'm pretty excited so I'm writing this thread. I've saved up enough money to drive up to NY and stay there for a month! I've not been there in around 8 years (I'm just about 20) and I'm looking forward to seeing my family. I've got a long drive it's around 15-16 hrs 1,000 Miles give or take(From Georgia).
With this being said, I'm sure there are some forum members that have done long distance driving before. What do you do on this long drive? The only other person I'll be bringing is my sister (She can't drive) so I've got no idea on how to keep her and myself occupied. I've bought an inverter box so she can use her laptop and watch movies but I'm still stuck with just listing to music(I'll probably listen to PKA also.)
So I've not been there in 8 years as stated before, I know a lot has changed and am wondering what I should go and see (Upstate and the city. I'll be staying around woodstock area.) When I used to live there my father had season tickets to the Yanks so I'm familiar with the area as I went there like 100 times LOL. Any tips on where to go and eat to what to see. 1 Thing I'll be going to is Canal ST in Manhattan gonna buy some fake shit LOL. I'm also going to be visiting some family in Little Germany for a few days along with some other family in Little Italy.
I don't set sail until July 3rd at 8:30 AM( I get paid on the 3rd and the bank does not open until 8AM) I plan on driving into the city on the 4th to see the fireworks, Where is the best place in the city to see them from?
Thanks guys, Leave me some info and luck LOL
P.S. I bought the new Garmin nüvi 2797LMT 7-Inch GPS for the trip.

TL/DR
Where the fack to eat, see and go.
I like to take acid before long trips..lol... Not really; Make sure you are well rested, do not hesitate to pull over and take a 15-30 minute nap and make sure you pull over, stretch and walk around for a little while; for blood flow. It is rare, but people can get blood clots and what not from sitting that long without some kind of movement. So if you don't really want to stop that much, flex your calf muscles here and there and kind of rotate your feet (ankle pumps).
Otherwise take it easy and enjoy the drive... Ohh and look up some state laws regarding driving... In some States you can get a ticket for driving in the far left lane to long on the Express way (passing lane; some states are strict others aren't). I just had a friend get a ticket for it and he was pissed.
