At my work we are currently working on some translations and we are in doubt on how to spell the following word to UK english: beige (the color). Is it the same as the french word for it?

Also if any americans are around the same translation/spelling is welcome.

My auto-correct says beige is correct

You spelt colour wrong...

I usually write colour like I did now, but I'm never sure that if it's correct or if color is the way the americans write it, or if the word is written differently when for used for an action... Even all the translators and dictionaries consider both right, when there's no option to select UK or US.

Either way, I just updated my Mozilla with both UK and US english dictionaries and "colour" is for UK and "color" for US.
