Blood doesn't make family... "Blood" will turn their back on you, if it benefits them even the slightest. Family are those who are there for you again and again, no matter what.

I have also learn't it does not matter the size of the impact you make in life; because to someone out there your impact was: life-altering, monumental.

Make the world a better place; take the time to hold a door open for a stranger...etc Even if someone treats you like shit , do your best to be the better person ( I learnt this one at work).

1. School is important! (fuuaark I wish that my parents were more strict with my schooling)

Well from some of my experiences... be the better person, if someone starts talking shit about you just remain calm, cool, and collected because the person talking shit will come off as an asshat and people will avoid them. Stay focused on something and never give up or say you can't do it because you're capable of doing anything. Last but not least, pay attention in school. It may seem like a drag, and come off pointless, but if you don't you'll regret it in the long run.

I could go on with a laundry list of things I've experienced but I'm sure someone else will cover it for me since they've probably gone through a similar experience.
