Best friends is a tricky thing, one wrong move and you could lose her, i know, i've been there. Just try talking to her and see what she wants

I think if she is your best friend, maybe keep it like that. If you ask here you might be stuck in the friend zone (You must login or register to view this content.) and then no doubt your friendship won't be as strong as it is now. If you like her as a good close friend, keep it like that. If you want more, she might so no and you might not be as good as a friend as you are now. The thing about girls is that work in mysterious ways in which only a girl will ever understand. In my opinion, many of the people telling you to ask her out are only 14/15. I have no idea what age you are but I'm also guessing around 14-16 in which case you are not 'ready' to settle down cos you are still too young. Being friends with an ex doesn't work very well. Just think about your friendship, and how long you have been good friends. Basically, you'd be better off going out with someone you have only just met (couple of months) and keep you best friend a best friend. But that's just my opinion.

I say go for it. Hell even say something like "I really like you, but if we went out then broke up I wouldnt wanna ruin our friendship" or how ever you'd wanna put it.

I sympathize with you man. I've had this problem for a year now. This girl who's been my friend for years, last year I realized that I care for her and like her a lot more then any other girl. But I don't wanna ask her out or tell her how I feel and mess everything up. I'm really stuck here. I wish you the best of luck, because I know it sucks.
