(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well, i've decided to lose some weight, and I guess this was triggered by this girl I like. (Sounds cliche and stupid but hell, if it doesn't work, this is better for me no matter what) So i'm only 16 so I still go to school and have a part time job. I wake up around 630 so I don't have time to work out unless I change that, and don't get done with school/work until 6/7 usually. And I want to go to bed around 12 so about 4-5 hours unless I don't have work that day which would make it 6-7 hours. So, how do you guys think I should spend my time/what activities to do. Now I am only looking to lose weight as I have Advanced Weight Lifting during and after school so that takes that. My parents eat healthy only 1/5 days of the week (we don't cook on weekends because of schedules) so I will have to get my own meals. But how do you guys think I should achieve this goal? I would like to achieve this in a relatively fast time span. Now some other important stuff is that i'm not HUGE but I do pack the pounds. 269 at 16 (remember I am a lineman) so i
m not like those people you see on those TV shows. Again, how should I go about this?

Have you started drinking a lot of water? I started drinking more water (over a litre, .264 gallon, or 2 pints) a day and I feel that it makes a big difference. Not only will you feel better but it will also speed up your metabolism. Another good way to lose weight is to cut out excess food such as chips/crisps and candy. Eating more fruit and more green foods such as spinach and salads will help immensely too. Just keep a good diet in mind, drink lots of water, and try to go about doing workouts that are centered towards burning fat like cardio and such. Good luck man Smile

In order to lose weight you just need to watch what you eat. Drop drinking soda all together. Drink a lot of water. Add vegetables to your meals. Eat about 5 times a day. Breakfast, healthy snack, lunch, healthy snack, and dinner. That way your not so hungry when you eat meals. Exercise about 1 hour a day and have a strong mind because those craving can be a B**** Cool Troll

Start eating your fruits and veggies Winky Winky also instead of walking to school and back, why not Jog, or do Jog Intervals? When you get home, do a few sit ups/push ups/something that will get that heart of yours racing... The more sweat you produce, the more fat you burn...
However, you could also do after school clubs to get your fitness back up and you into shape..
Also, as the other guys have posted. Watch what you eat! No Carbs, just pure Protein... Cut the anything dairy, pasta and bread. Eat fish and chicken....

Today Will Be Different
First off, you need to get your diet in check. Drop the sweets and if it taste good, spit it out. Eat more veggies, leafy greens and more lean meats. Have healthy snacks like nuts(peanut, almond) etc.

As for exercises you need to stick with aerobic exercises. Such as swimming, running/jogging, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, riding a bicycle, and jump rope. Of course you can do calisthenics, such as pushups, pull-ups, chin-ups, crunches, sit-ups, leg raises and a whole lot more.

I'm assuming you already lift and have some decent gains so calisthenics will keep you in shape and fit along with aerobic exercises. And I would stick with your weight lifting class. You'll start noticing that you'll be dropping the pounds, but do note that muscle weighs more than fat so if it appears you have gained weight, don't fret.

tl;dr cutout junk foods, more veggies/better diet, aerobics and calisthenics.

Do a barrel roll!
It's not stupid.. Drink lots of water start running/jogging for 20 minutes a day to start out and build up after that once you lose a little bit of weight start lifting this will help you gain endurance and build up a muscle tone.. Push ups and sit ups help also I did the 30 day challenge for both before I went to bootcamp I started out at 10 a day and you add 2 everyday that passes.. I set my goals high for 2 minutes of them and can do 71push ups and 78 sit-ups in 2 minutes.. You do what you set your mind to goals are a good hing to have

Glad to see you want to make a change, losing weight is just as much mental as it is a physical challenge. This is not a fast thing to achieve though. It takes a lot of effort and time to achieve this. This is a very well written guide that I can confidently say works. It is worth reading if you are serious about losing weight.

Step 1: Motivation Drive

Don't make the reason to get a girl your determination for the goal. This is always a bad idea and instead of learning the hard way take this advice, set this goal for yourself and only for yourself. The only way you will ever keep that motivation will be if you do it for yourself. Now set your goal. Don't weight yourself every day only do this once every 2 weeks and record your progress. It's not only getting to your goal it's staying motivated to keep that goal once you got to the finish line. So to start off you need that motivation drive.

Step 2: Metabolism and Sleeping

Get your metabolism up it's what makes you more energized and gets your body to burn more fat when active. You should get more sleep, you don't sleep enough. 8 hours is what you should aim at. Staying up long periods of time and over working your body without rest is not good on your body. This also affects your metabolism. Without a good metabolism you won't lose weight no matter how hard you try.

Step 3: Eating and Drinking

If you use protein it will help the muscle growth and recovery. Do not waste your money on anything else because in the long run your body will suffer and you want to keep that body in shape as long as possible. Since you have a job buy your own foods. Eat foods with protein and low carbs. No more fast food, junk food, or sweets. Eating healthy boosts your metabolism. This doesn't mean you have to eat only greens and starve yourself. DO NOT in any circumstance starve yourself this will reduce your metabolism dramatically, damage your body, and your health. Eat enough calories a day to keep your body running in good shape and healthy. Use the You must login or register to view this content. to help. A few snacks can include fruits, vegetables, peanut butter, almonds, low sodium deli sliced turkey breast, deli sliced roasted beef, low fat yogurt, 1-2 slices of whole grain bread, oatmeal, and high fiber cereal. Drink a lot of water, avoid using bottles. Cut out the pop drinks and high sugar drinks. Alternatives to water are V8 juice, 100% fruit juice, low fat milk. I say V8 because it's a favorite of mine especially for breakfast when milk upsets your stomach. Remember you don't need to quit eating good food, just avoid caving into the cravings for bad food. Like I said previously it's a mental challenge too. Things to remember, don't miss a meal eating breakfast is really important to start that metabolism.

Step 4: Exercise

First go to your local doctors office and see how much fat % you have on your body. This can also help You must login or register to view this content. but I prefer to take a physical measurement to get the exact %. You should jog to school and back home from school. This will get your heart rate and metabolism running early in the morning . Put some motivating music on, you will forget the distance and distractions around you. Do a speed/time chart and occasionally increase your speed to decrease your time to your arrival. Every week push yourself a little more. Once you are sprinting day after day to school you will see a great increase in stamina, metabolism, and weight loss. Remember to eat breakfast to start up that metabolism. You will be tired from school and working so try to minimize the stress on your body by sleeping good! Stress can affect weight gained and metabolism levels to drop. This isn't something done over the weekend it takes people months to get to their goal, like my dad always said, "Perfection takes time". So relax, take your time, and stay motivated. You are in weight training so use that to your advantage. Stretch, might sound something a lot of people aren't into but the amount of serious injuries especially in athletes have increased over the years. Now start your workout. Do a jog only for 10 minutes either on a thread mill, elliptical, or just around a track. Now start your lifting, minimize heavy weight lifting and increase your fast paced low weight lifting. Fast paced lifting causes burning in your muscles and light weight let's you do more reps per set. This is the key to weight loss. Find a weight you are comfortable doing 20 reps with and if you feel you want to challenge yourself push that extra 5. Remember it's your progress so don't worry about others around you or anyone watching, distractions can easily mess up your focus and motivation. You will be feeling burning in your muscles, start sweating a lot, and have energy to do more. This is because of your motivation and metabolism combined. Do this 4-5 days a week. Split up your routine per day for mind confusion, this is also a major play in weight loss and muscle gain. Do biceps and upper back one day. Shoulders and lower back another. Triceps and chest another. Abs and legs another this includes calves, thighs, and butt yes the butt too. The last day is optional this can be the intense training day or a catch up day if you feel you need to put some more work into a body part. Intense training can be very high reps of fast paced workouts like suicides, up downs, ect. Anything that keeps your body moving and sweating that doesn't involve lifting weights. You don't need to push yourself 2x a day on lifting it'll only add more stress to your muscles and can cause major damage to the body. If you do still want to go the second time focus on other activities other then weight lifting like swimming. Swimming is amazing on the body, it tightens the body muscles and sheds weight pretty quick because the whole body is worked out when swimming. If you can sit in a sauna for 15-20 minutes a day to control breathing and shed water weight, this can be increased to an hour a day. Sauna will only shed water weight and is good for your pores to prevent acne on your face and back. Don't forget to be well rested!

Step 5: Injuries and Muscle Recovery

Injuries can be easy to get so don't over due it. Stretch and warm your body up before doing your workouts. Take breaks for every 4-5 days you workout you need at least 2 full days for your muscles to recover. Drink protein after your workout to help muscle growth and the muscle recovery process to work more rapidly. Don't use leg weights or over due your legs, a friend of mine had his football career cut short due to a torn ACL he played TE for MSU a few years back. He hasn't been able to go forward with his career because of the torn ACL being in his history of injuries. He still plays flag football at the Lions training camp with many Lions players but has no chance of ever getting his career back up due to one injury. I've injured the same shoulder twice working out which has been causing me problems over time and I'm only 20. Last year I had had 3 fractures in my wrist, one being a scaphoid fracture, this put me in a cast for 3 months and a recovery period that lasted a total of 8 months. To this day I still have problems and Arthritis in my wrist. I have a fractured knuckle that has been swollen for years now, it's a big difference from my left hand. Just be careful it's easy to fuck up your body but it's hard to recover.

Good luck man, I know this is long but it's worth the read. If you have any questions or want any advice give me a message. I enjoy working out have been since I was 14 and been practicing MMA since 17.
