Sledgehammer making Call of Duty 2014

So with it being 2014 and people losing interest with Call of Duty: Ghosts, I started looking into the fact we still have another 2 Developers that have worked on Call of Duty in the past. These Developers being Treyarch and well Sledgehammer.

So from the usual cycle of developers everybody would think the 2014 Call of Duty would be developed by Treyarch. I hoped it would be so we could see the power of NextGen Zombies but it seem we will have to wait until 2015 for this to happen as it seems this year’s game will be developed by Sledgehammer.
And with this news floating around from Job positions that are open at the two companies as seen on their respective websites You must login or register to view this content. and You must login or register to view this content.. As you can see from Treyarch’s side they are still wanting a Game Designer, and they are ‘Urgently’ looking to fill this position, this is why I expect them to be the 2015 games developer, we are now 10 months away from Call of Duty 2014, this position should have been filled months ago.

Yes Sledgehammer need a Weapons and Vehicle artist but this could be for DLC stuff, and look at Black Ops 2, they changed the way some stuff looked after the initial release anyway. Originally the Swarm was a UAV styled Vehicle, on launch it looked like a Hunter Killer. These artists could be brought into change stuff or give a helping hand.

Some may argue that Treyarch want those staff for the game after next, but if that was the case why would they be wanting them urgently? They wouldn’t they would recruit them members of staff after the next game or shortly after release.

Why the hate for Sledgehammer?
All I have seen on Twitter is people being angry over the fact that Sledgehammer could/will be the developer for the 2014 Call of Duty game, all I can think is why the hate? They have only HELPED with the development of one Call of Duty game and that was MW3 where they helped with the Campaign on there, everything else was Infinity Ward’s idea. So with this why do they get the hate for having one Campaign experience, and if you ask me MW3 actually had a half decent Campaign!

I am excited to see what Sledgehammer could do with this Call of Duty game and to see if it will be a new Series or if they will just continue with the Modern Warfare Series while Infinity Ward create a Ghosts series and obviously Treyarch develop with the Black Ops Series.

Are you bothered with who makes the Next Call of Duty game?

Are you still interested with Call of Duty?

BO1 had the best maps beside that golf map but even then it wasn't so BAD if Sledgehammer really just made the single player Campaign then I have to say I really enjoyed it I thought they fucked up the Multiplayer hahaha

Black Ops One, good maps... were we playing the same game? and this is excluding DLC of course, because I don't shell out money ever for extra maps. All the maps were small relative to cod4 and were badly designed and unimaginative and gave no priority to any particular play style except for running around like a retard, yes there were large maps but there were no good sniping points (By good I mean a place where you're not able to get picked off by a guy with an assault rifle incredibly easily) and that's not even the worst of it, the way the spawn system switched the spawn points to the other end of the map so frequently broke any sense immersion, cod4's spawn system wasn't perfect, but it was never as spontaneous as BO and that's obviously implemented to stop spawn killing but all it did was make the game feel like a it was a fucking hourglass that someone kept turning over and over.

BO was my second most played COD game after 4 and I was good at it. I had a 3.0 KDR, but to get those stats, all you had to do was play as a ghost class and run in circles around the outside of the map picking off players, there was nothing more to the game than that, and that worked on every single map. If you don't have to change up your play style from map to map then the designers have done a really shit job.

Cod is became garbage once Black Ops II released. Battlefield is where it's at.

Nope, even on the PS4 I can run around on whiteout for days before running into a teammate.

I'm seriously done with COD.

The maps on Ghosts are fucking huge for just a small amount of players. It literally takes me a long time to actually find someone without getting shot at from the back.

I had a feeling they should move to a 3 year life cycle. It shows that COD is not going to die if they want to invest three studios in a series.
