(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So recently I've been having dreams where I believe I'm awake and I can see things in my bedroom being exactly how they are in real life (also called false awakenings)... But the weird part is, is that I can't move. It's like I'm paralysed, and I can't even move my head to look around. The only way I have found myself to wake up is if I try and shake my head as fast as I can; this then forces me to wake up but I'm extremely hot and sweaty, which is unusual as my bedroom is at just the right temperature.

It's kinda weird, was wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar...

I get that same feeling too man, I sweat out of no where and when I wake up I just stand up. Last night, I thought I turned off the lights and the door was closed but for some reason, it was on and the door was open :(

It's called sleep paralysis and is a stage you experience before sleep, it's caused by you laying completely motionless in bed with your eyes open for a duration of time, your body is tricked into thinking it's asleep and you may experience hallucinations during this period. People often try to induce sleep paralysis as it can lead to lucid dreaming, sleep paralysis can also be a terrifying experience because the hallucinations can be scary and well you can't move or do anything, you do the math.

It's weird though because I don't purposely do it. I know how to lucid dream and induce a state similar to it, but I normally have the sleep paralysis after I've been asleep... It's messed up haha
