Post: What would you think about an MLG NGU team?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I honestly think this would be a great idea for NGU, I seen that Joelcra mentioned it in another thread and thought to myself that it would be awesome! Have tryouts, get the best and put together a team! It would bring more of a gaming look to NGU instead of the modding scene, also it would be cool if they had their own usergroup as they would be representing NGU.

Although it would be hard not to have people modding in the tryouts to try and make it for the team, but we could figure out ways around that if this idea came into place. I would think BO2 would be ideal as its very hot on the MLG scene at the moment.

Again, this was Joelcra's idea :p

I don't see why we don't have one already?
NGU should put themselves out there a little more. I think it would be a good idea to have a MLG team for each game.

(CoD, BF, ect..)

Sign me up to any racing games (if they do one) lol.

You need to find a group of people who are skilled enough and work together.
Also funding it costs a bomb.
Are other circuits apart from MLG around with other titles too.

Cool idea but would require a ton of funds to pay off and end of the day could be a money sink.

So what your saying is, it's more or less a no go? I'd say we could get a skilful team of gamers no problem tbh

Yeah maybe not even in a league as advanced as MLG, as you said there are other leagues out there which would be a ton cheaper to fund, just an idea for near future.

Given the high player turn around already at an MLG COD level, which is stupid high compared to other E sports.
Finding a group who can train to together be together and unlikely to quit it harder compared to what you think :p
A reason why not many teams in MLG COD E sports due to how hard is it to enter.
Smaller E sports groupings are far more likely but requires more traveling.

Funding wise, most teams are supported by YT/Twitch income and funding from 3rd parties.
NGU would need to fund the whole deal or some of it comes from players to turn up.

I like the idea behind it as it expands the NGU brand, but MLG is a bad place to go other niche games with a lower level for entry to E sports is far more likely. Of course benefits to the brand only happens if you promote it, why Optic gaming have YT/Twitch and deals with other companies.
See far more success going forward with a social event over competitive gaming.

Depends on your grand vision for NGU too if this is a wise idea to go down and worth the time/money.

When you put it like that, I suppose your right. All MLG teams have funding sources behind them whereas NGU would have to fund the team. I'm sure it would be hard to find a team that wouldn't give up and a team that plays good together.

Maybe we should start of small, as in Gamebattles. As you don't need any source of funding for it at all, it's simply just plain clan battles, would also advertise the Brand.

What was your idea on a social event, if you don't mind me asking?

We could always play a role of a sponsorship behind a team over setting up a team. Some guys on YT do this already.
Gamebattles idea not a bad one and something I did think about.
As for social event pretty much play with one of the admins or mods on a certain game.
Based on the success of the Minecraft server in the past and BF along with playing with people from this forum.
I think it would be nice and would work.

Part of me wants to create a new gamer tag just for it.

Just comes down to people putting in the time to do so.
