Well technically your right, but thats only because their demestocated. If they were wild and you had to beat a chicken with a club to catch and eat thats not being cruel. Thats just survival. In the end its boils down to people choices. Some one slaughters it --> someone eats it. Or Someone slaughters it --> someone doesnt eat it --> another person eats it. So someones always going to do it weather someone else does or doesnt.

Of course if there was a faster and more humane way to "harvest" meat id be all for it.

4house, there isn't so why think of it? It is a source of food, no one can stuff it down your throat and tell you to enjoy it. I however don't care because someone else has to do the dirty work and in a way I pay them when I buy meat. If we let all living creatures grow and not kill them for meat the world would be way overpopulated, dead bodies of animals everywhere because the decomposers wouldn't be able to decompose all of those naturally dying animals so quickly.
