Today's new Youtube rumor is subscription service mainly for music is coming to YT.
However, this is a double edged sword companies which don't sign up to the service are to be blocked from the site.
The balance appears to be with YT once for a change blocking any indie labels from the site who don't sign up.
Artists could also have their own personal music videos blocked from the site too.
So why blocking and removing videos from the site it all to do with the terms YT has provided many Indie labels are holding out saying the terms are bad.
Youtube is planning on making music a major source of content from the site and wants as much content as possible before it releases the service. Having a free advert based music against subscription service is bad in google's eyes.
Almost all big major music studios have signed up to the deal the terms are unknown at this time.
Alison Wenham, Worldwide Independent Network said YouTube is "making a grave error of commercial judgment in misreading the market".
"We have tried and will continue to try to help YouTube understand just how important independent music is to any streaming service and why it should be valued accordingly"
In other words so people are being given low offers on their content.
"By not giving their subscribers access to independent music YouTube is setting itself up for failure... The vast majority of independent labels around the world are disappointed at the lack of respect and understanding shown by YouTube."
Singers have come out and been public in saying Youtube should stop this madness.
European Commission has been requested to look into Youtube terms, this comes up top of other dealing with Google.
Indies have the market share of 30% that just streaming income.
Indies are being offered lower value per money compared to the major labels, along with harsher terms.
Customers suffer in the end.
I've heard this information isn't correct. The articles that have been reporting on this have been badly worded. From Reddit, one user pointed out that they will not be blocked from uploading to youtube, but will be blocked from using there new paying music service. I think that's right anyway :p
Edit: I may be wrong, I just found a quote from

"The people also confirmed that a small number of independent artists who had not agreed to new deal terms will have their videos blocked in some countries starting in a few days, even on the free version of YouTube.
YouTube will block the music videos so users of the test version won't be confused about which content they can access for free and with features require payment, the people said.
Allowing free streams of music by certain artists while not offering them on the paid service would erode the value of the paid plan, one person said."
