YouTube has chosen tonight to announce two giant bombshells. The first is that the site will be soon supporting 60 FPS and the second, that it will be supporting a business model that might affect plenty of video game content creators in the near future:
The first piece of news is great for gameplay videos featuring games that run at high frame rates. The second, however, may hint at some troubles down the line (although nothing official has been revealed yet), since it’s a new feature that will allow YouTubers to garner financial support from viewers themselves through the Fan Funding system, which is connected to funding sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo and more. You can read up on this and more changes/additional features on the official YouTube page You must login or register to view this content.
Meanwhile, you can also check out a clip of Titanfall running at 60FPS below.
Now the peasants can really experience what 60fps is and maybe they will realise how big of a deal it is
See, I don't want to have to donate to watch content. An ad is an ad. I don't care. They usually don't last long. That donate thing I can see leading to content producers making less money.
Good ^_^
I'm worried about the donate button, still think should do a sub system pay so much a month and get no more adverts.
