(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Back in 2012 Facebook decided to do a psychological experiment for a week on 700,000 users.
Social network has published a paper in the study.
What did Facebook do?
The group of scientists detailed how to affect the moods of people by changing the content appearing in your news feed.
Altering the amount of positive or negative content changed the number of positive or negative content appearing from a user.
More negative content meant that people posted more negative content.
More positive content meant that people posted more positive content.

Problem is that Facebook did not get the “informed consent” necessary for a test like this.
Lawyers and technology experts are worried that companies are likely to use these methods to manipulate populations.
Emotional contagion is known already but this is the first example of being tested in a social media setting. Some are calling on rethink how society relates to social media due to the impact even a simple change like this can have.

If you guys want to view the study just say happy to link it.
