Talking about myself, as I am a corporate lawyer.

Financial advisor? I remember talking about it with you a bit in the shoutbox. You showed off your nice 335i. Outie

I'm a salaried advisor which is rare in my industry, I'm at six figures, about $150k, and if the firm does well my ownership share of the profit is about another $50k

If you are in a typical firm, you share (commission) in the revenue that you generate with your firm. Average national advisor salaries are about $100k. However that's skewed by high producers and a lot of low producers dragging it down.

I manage $130M of client assets, if I were on my own that would be gross revenue of $1.3M. Figure taxes, staff and expenses would net me $400-$600k a year.

Hopefully that helps a bit.

I work part time for a printing company making magazines. I get £178 for working 3 days a week, which isn't bad for part time and someone my age! :p
