(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Technology companies have been looking for a design idea to come to life modular systems for users to upgrade.
The idea is not new as a concept many companies have been doing this for time takes a fuse you can replace it in any plug.
Many tech firms have been looking into this as the answer to green problems
On top of this many companies see it as a way to recycle parts easier and build cheaper systems.

Enter into the fold Google with Project Ara a modular phone which allows users to change any part on the fly.
With this comes another company who spoke about this idea in PCs Razor Project Christine.

Liquid cooled system with every part connected to a PCI slot in the core of the case. Touch screen allowing you to check what is going on in real time.
Both however are very early ideas with full scale production yet to start

Razor has spoken about how it found it hard to get OEMs on board with the idea to produce parts for it. And Google has given away 100 pre production very early builds for testers. No word on if Google has any OEMs on board yet.
Point easy to upgrade systems which are easier along with cheaper in the long run.
Given how modular PCs are right now I look forward to making things easier along with more tech becoming like PCs Smile

I remember seeing Google's modular phone awhile ago and to say the least I was impressed. I liked the whole concept of adding what you want/need without having features that you don't. I just hope manufactures want to get in on the idea, I'm sure there is money to be made especially with Google. :p

I really want these things to come true, people can finally put whatever they want in the system and not pay for it all.
