The moment a heavily armed Swat team stormed the office of an online shoot-'em-up gamer has been caught on camera.

He'd apparently been 'swatted' - a potentially deadly prank in which rival gamers report gunshots and screams at a particular address, prompting heavily armed officers to respond.

The raid happened in Littleton, Colorado, after reports of an active shooter were made to police.

But when they burst in, they found the gamer – known as Kootra – playing Counter Strike.

The live-stream video of the gamer caught the build-up and most of the raid on camera.

In the clip, Kootra says: "Uh oh. This isn't good. They're clearing rooms, what in the world, I think we're getting swatted."

As five heavily armed officers barge into the room, he pulls off his headphones, drops his controller, and gets down on the floor.

One officer shouts: "What's your name?" while another sends a radio message saying they have "one in custody".

He was cuffed and brought to his feet to be search, as an officer asked: "What about this is funny to you?"

An anonymous caller had called police claiming Kootra had shot two co-workers and was holding others hostage at gunpoint.

Later Denver police said in a statement: "Fortunately there were no injuries today, but a massive law enforcement response wastes resources and greatly increases the chances of innocent people being injured or killed.

"If the investigation determines that today's incident was a hoax, those involved will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

I seen this video and I felt bad for that guy and the people lol. Kids these days thinking sending a swat team is funny, it's stupid and could kill someone.

Stuff like this ruins the fun in gaming, Hands down. Just because I'm better than you in a game whether it's COD or some other crap; JUST because "IM GOOD" ... you have to waste precious time of your life to actually send a SWAT team to the victims house is pathetic!! I mean seriously?!

Right, I look at it exactly like that. Some asshat decides to swat someone just to feel good about them self, all the while wasting that resource on what they will come to discover a prank/hoax. Thankfully there are laws being made against swatting, but it's only good if they find the individual who initiates it.

I'm just going to laugh when a swatter swats someone, and they in turn will need the assistance of the swat team but their local swat team is out swatting an otherwise innocent person.

I think it's ridiculous that people take the time to swat people, but I like to watch them.
