For me, there was a movie called 'Killer Klowns From Outer Space' it's about clowns that come to earth a kill people... It's dumb but for some reason it scared the shit out of me as a kid.

Definitely Saw. Simply the weirdest horror series ever. Not killing people, but making them kill themselves in the most horrific ways. Just completely creeps me out.
