Death threat tweet gets game pulled from steam. Mike Maulbeck developer for Paranautical Activity tweeted out of frustration death threats to Gabe Newell the CEO for Valve.
Valve sent a email to Mike explaining the company is ceasing all business with the developer. Admin accounts handled by Mike to be closed down along with removing the game from the store front.
Valve was in the process of promoting Paranautical Activity being part of a it Halloween themed games selection on Steam. Problem was the a small error which listed the title was being Early access when the title was a full release.
Mike Maulbeck started to get messages asking if he asked the company to say it was Early access to avoid problems with the game being unfinished or avoid the spotlight on issues. Mike did message the company about the mistake before ranting on twitter about the problem. Promotion for the game could bring in dozens of extra sales for the title with millions using the games distribution service every day
Went on to tweet how incompetent the company was before ending with a death threat, all tweets have been removed.
Mike Maulbeck has decided it time to quit the company and making video games
