It will be for gaming and also for watching tv, I have also heard that you can use your xbox 360 account on the xbox one? Is that correct?

All systems use the same account system so PS3 to PS4 and 360 to One.
The best all rounder right now oddly is the Wii U when it comes to first party, PS4 and Xbox one have less titles per system only for them.
End of the day comes down to games.

I don't have a One or PS4 yet so take that with some salt.
