(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Some people think it is bad some people think it is good I would like some honest opinions from real people like the nice people on NGU.

Most of those facts about Cannabis are completely wrong. The internet memes that purport this stuff uses research that is completely misleading. For example, in a preclinical study researchers combined THC and temozolomide, and determined that a concentration of cannabinoids to kill breast cancer cells would be roughly 3.14mg/L. So to treat breast cancer, you'd need a blood level of 3.14mg/L...by smoking one joint, you get roughly .00013-.00064mg/L. That means you would have to smoke roughly a thousand joints a day for cannabis to cure breast cancer. Likewise, the medicinal effects of CBD (another cannabinoid found in marijuana) requires extremely high doses for medicinal use. Just because purified cannabinoid components are medicinal does not make marijuana medicinal.

The myth of cannabis' medical status is equatable to a claim that because digoxin works for congestive heart failure that the ingestion of foxglove leaves might be a treatment.

I'm not sure about you, but 10% doesn't look like a sound gateway theory to me.

It can cause you to want to try other things that " get you higher" not a myth it's a fact.

If it were a fact, there would be a hell of a lot more than 10% of marijuana smokers moving onto heavier drugs. While there is certainly some margin of error that could be attributable to lying about major drug use or wanting to appear "cool" with smoking pot, that margin of error is most certainly unaccountable for any significant portion of 2.1 million people.

Face it, it's a myth.
