As long as your teacher is helping you gain more information and knowledge, I wouldn't care what methods she/he were using to do so. As long as they aren't doing major things, stuff like this should simply be a no brainer.

I think its illegal because she is getting paid and so is the school , but the company would have to bring up charges, not the local police. Its a civil matter, not criminal.
