So today i was walking to school. I start 10:18 and time is around 10:22 when i get stopped by truancy officers. They ask for my ID, who i live with, my dads name, phone number, and address. They asked if i was late and i said yes, i started at that time. They gave my ID and off to school i went. I attended all my classes and didnt leave the building until my day was done. I come home and receive a phone call saying how i left the building and was stopped and escorted back to school by truancy officers. But i never left.. My questions are-
-i am a student, do i have the right to remain silent when asked questions by NYPD truancy?
-tomorrow am i allowed to go back to them and ask for their names, rank, badge number, and vehicle number without conflict?
-am i allowed to record the whole scene if this happens again?
..i just feel this is not right and people should know their rights against NYPD corrupt cops with abuse of power who pick on civilians just cause "they are the law".
Please quote me asap cause i want to take action as soon as possible
Why were you late in first place? I've never seen a truancy officer before, considering if you're walking to high school, you're most likely old enough to drop out anyway. :/
