They ask for my ID, who i live with, my dads name, phone number, and address. They asked if i was late and i said yes, i started at that time. They gave my ID and off to school i went. I attended all my classes and didnt leave the building until my day was done. I come home and receive a phone call saying how i left the building and was stopped and escorted back to school by truancy officers. But i never left.. My questions are-
-i am a student, do i have the right to remain silent when asked questions by NYPD truancy?
-tomorrow am i allowed to go back to them and ask for their names, rank, badge number, and vehicle number without conflict?
-am i allowed to record the whole scene if this happens again?

..i just feel this is not right and people should know their rights against NYPD corrupt cops with abuse of power who pick on civilians just cause "they are the law".
Please quote me asap cause i want to take action as soon as possible

Why were you late in first place? I've never seen a truancy officer before, considering if you're walking to high school, you're most likely old enough to drop out anyway. :/

No, I'm saying: you're walking to high school. You're most likely old enough to drop out if you wanted to. There'd be no reason for a truancy officer to stop you if you don't attend school, yeah? Unless you're wearing a bookbag...

well you are allowed to take a video or record the conversation but you have to tell that you are recording. so in the beginning of the conversation tell them that you are recording and that you would like to know why you were called home if you were not skipping. That all but you can NOT ask them for there rank or car number or anything like that

My school has had history of kids eating outside for lunch even though its against NYC law. Last year was the worst, the school did nothing to stop it. This year we got extra police and truancy every where cracking down kids. I was stupid enough to not ask him why i was stopped, tomorrow i will ask why i was stopped and for his name and badge and vehicle number, cause they have to give it upon request. Yeah i was wearing a book bag, but if i was a drop out why would i be going to school anyway lol

Yeah i could ask for his badge number and name. If i want to file a complaint i have to know his name, badge number, location of scene, and vehicle number. If requested he has to give it to me, if you see the link
