Post: Lost a friend today

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Sadly I was informed about 11:20 this morning that a good friend of mine had taken his life overnight. He had been dealing with family as well as personal issues for many years, and had even attempted suicide once before, but failed. He swore he would never try again. Unfortunately that was not true. I don't know what changed, as I had talked to him that day and he seemed fine. We were talking about computers and he was looking to save up the money to build one. He had always reached out before, tried talking to someone. I've even woken up at 3am to him calling me in tears. I would gladly have done that the rest of my life had it meant he were still here. I'm going to miss him dearly but I know that he is in a better place now, or at least I like to believe so. Anyways please pray for the repose of Alex's soul and for his family and friends. Knowing how I feel, I can't begin to imagine how his family is feeling.

R.I.P. Alex. See you on the other side brother.

Thanks for the support guys!

As for his soul, he went to a catholic school, as do I. Suicide is a sin, and he will have to make up for that in the afterlife no doubt. My belief though is that hell is for those who reject God, and that although we may not know it, I'm sure there is a way of making up for our sins in the afterlife, even mortal ones.

I know how it feels man. Apr. 29th my best friend ended his own life. Its never going to get better. But it will get easier. Cherish your time with other friends and family and enjoy it while it lasts because you never know when you will never see them again.

I am truly sorry for your loss.

It's called judgement day. I, too, believe that denial of God is the only damning sin, but I'm not catholic, so I see God in a more merciful light. But, consider this: sometimes suicide really and truly is the only way out of unlivable or inescapable situation, such as sexual slavery, because face it, once you're trapped in that lifestyle, you have very little chance of getting out. If you really believe that your friend should go to Heaven, and not hell, then why not pray for him? If he's as faithful as you say, then he's made his statements to God before he killed himself.

Just seems like an odd thing to 'maybe' about.
