At roughly 7pm BST, reddit created an announcement stating they'll be removing subreddits that they deem harassing. In total, five subreddits have been removed since the announcement. "We will ban subreddits that allow their communities to use the subreddit
as a platform to harass individuals when moderators don’t take action. We’re banning
behavior, not ideas."


The banning of this subreddit has caused a huge backlash within the reddit community, causing You must login or register to view this content. to become overflown with hundreds of posts towards fat people, with some even targeting the current CEO of Reddit. Subreddits have been created in an attempt to try and get Ellen Pao (Reddit CEO) to resign after the decisions that have been made, calling it You must login or register to view this content.

Some of the sub's which Reddit can ban is just strange compared to the others which are left alone
