most of the parents of these kids grew up in the same type of home so its an ongoing problem
the real problem is the parents arent doing there job, they send there kids to school and expect the school to solve the problems
granted there are some parents who do try and arent succesful but most of it is due to the parents seeing nothing wrong with the kids acting this way or just plain not being involved in there childs life

The rappers just made themselves look stupid.
Yes, There are other things that have a negative influence on kids, but what is something big in a childs life? Music. Not businesses or entrepreneurship or anything like that. Kids mind are still developing around that age. If they develop the things rap teaches them, it will stick with them the rest of their life. Especially if they don't have family/friends/guardian showing them the right way, and expect the school to influence their child. There were more negative things about what they were rapping about then good. At the end Damon Dash was saying how we jumped on the negative things about it when that's the reason the principal was there. Because his students were effected by the lyrics and videos. He claimed that he was also doing more positive but didn't exactly explain the positive. Yeah he said how to be a business man, an entrepreneur , etc... Well what truly are you doing.. Teaching them how to be a business founder is good, but for your purpose which is rapping explicit lyrics? No that's negative. And anyway, They aren't even promoting the positive. At all. You here nothing in their songs about "Oh I'm a great entrepreneur who makes a lot of mone etc..."
So ultimately, They only positive thing it has on kids is singing. For them wanting to be a rapper themselves. But that also comes with the negative it brings.
