Hey all, I was searching the site and couldn't find a Fantasy Football league for NGU so decided to make one. I Think FPL is a great friendly competition, which does get very competitive and it is great fun. Anyone is welcome to join and I reccomend the idea of prizes for 1rst 2nd and 3rd(?) ,as to what the prizes would be i do not know fire me in some suggestions or if you could help with that it would be much appreciated!

I am sure most already know but for those who don't, I'll just give a quick explanation of what Fantasy Football is all about.

Starting with 'The league', it is based on the Barclays Premier League.

The Basics & Team Building Each player is given £100m to pick a squad of 15, different players have different prices, for example Eden Hazard of Chelsea is priced at £11.5M as last season he got allot of points and is expected to get allot again this season. Where-as Danny Grayham of Sunderland is priced at £4.5M as last season he didn't stack up much points. The difficulty here is payers must mix teams as each squad can only contain 3 players from 1 team, and with the budget of £100m need to think about who they are picking. Players can make 'tranfsers' during game weeks but it will cost points, or they can hold out until the Transfer window opens in January for the free transfers. The use of transfers are vital as you could be short a player due to injury or just want to swap an out-of-form player for someone who is in-form. Thus earning more points for the said player.

Point System
During the season, your fantasy football players will be allocated points each 'Game Week' based on their performance in the Barclays Premier League.
Here's a list of how they earn points and how many, consider this when building your squad.

For playing 60 minutes or more | 2
For each goal scored by a goalkeeper or defender | 6
For each goal scored by a midfielder | 5
For each goal scored by a forward | 4
For each goal assist | 3
For a clean sheet by a goalkeeper or defender | 4
For a clean sheet by a midfielder | 1
For every 3 shot saves by a goalkeeper | 1
For each penalty save | 5
For each penalty miss | -2
Bonus points for the best players in a match | 1-3
For every 2 goals conceded by a goalkeeper or defender | -1
For each yellow card | -1
For each red card | -3
For each own goal | -2

Managing The Team
The Managing is completley up to the player him/herself. From the 15 player squad, 11 must be selected for the game week All your points for the Gameweek will be scored by these 11 players, however if one or more doesn't play they may be automatically substituted. Your team can play in any formation providing that 1 goalkeeper, at least 3 defenders and at least 1 forward are selected at all times. Also something to take into consideration is that your Captain earns double points, so chose him wisely.

Deadlines
All changes to the squad must be completed by the Game-Weeks deadline so they can take effect for the set of matches, deadlines are usually up to 1 hour before kick off. My advice would be look at who is playing who, for example if a defender in the starting XI is playing a high scoring team it may be smart to switch him for one of the other defenders.
