I won't start carrying until I can put some more rounds through my gun. .357 has a good kick to it and I'm not ready to trust my life to it yet. When I do start carrying, my state doesn't discriminate on OC/CC but I will most likely OC since its hard to conceal a .357 with a 6 inch barrel.

It isn't practical, that much is for sure.

My dad owns multiple .45s. I personally love em. That is why I want a P227 chambered in .45. It would be sweet.

It depends on what state you live in. I live in Indiana and the majority of the process is done online now. It took me 21 days from filing online to permit in hand, but I could have cut 9 days off of that had I payed online instead of mailing in my payment. However I know that about a year ago, maybe a little more, my dad filed for his. All of it was on paper, in person. It took him about 3 months from filing to permit in hand. So it really depends on where you live and how updated their process is for applying.

EDIT: It takes no training to apply for a permit in Indiana, and my application went through so fast because I have no criminal record. If you have any sort of a record it will without a doubt slow down the process. Even misdemeanors, simply because the police have to look over each offense and ensure there is no reason that would disqualify you for a permit.

get an Glock 21, i dad got one aswell since he works at the Buisness where they get build i shot it myself and the recoil isnt pretty hard

i got a .357 snub nose, fun to shoot but for my CC i rock the .45 you should look into one, you wont be disappointed
