Some just random examples are Battlelog, Steam and Imgur which is sad because a lot of people used reddit and Imgur is the image hosting for that. However things like LiveLeak are still easily available, looks like they don't want you looking at games but decapitation and torture is fine. Has anyone been the victim of random website blocks?

DNS blocks can be iffy and work on list of sites which fall under a certain genre

Our school uses the Zscaler security service or something and the category most fall under is URL Blacklist (Imgur is one of them). Battlelog comes under Games and so does steam. Https:// works on some sites which is good.

When I was in School people used to go on proxy sites all the time to get around them.

When I was in College most sites aren't blocked (porn etc is blocked). A photographer friend runs a website called Carporn and I could never get onto this site at college.
