(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); interesting topic, but how did everybody here (well the ones who have an occupation) get their job?

me personally, i done a weeks 'work experience' (basically a week of trying out the job)in automotive painting in year 10, and my primary goal was to get a part time apprenticeship, so work for half the week then go to school for the rest. towards the end of the week the boss came up to me and asked me outright if i wanted to start a full time apprenticeship with them and that they were really keen (so i would have to quit school), and well i thought long and hard about it over a few weeks, and i was doing considerably well in high school ('A' student mostly) so i really disliked the idea of quitting. Well a couple more weeks past, talking to a lot of people about it etc. and i end up ringing the boss and telling her that i'll take the offer. 4 years later and i'm now a fully qualified spray painter. of cause, my job has downfalls, eg. a lot of days i wonder why the fuck i chose to do it, but all in all, i'm happy to say i'm proud of where i have come today! Smile

so yea, thats part of my life Drack

I went down to the recruiter and told him that I wanted to be a Marine. So I signed on the dotted line, end of story.

i got my job thru a free IT course i took almost a yr ago, i did the program for about 4 months, then they sent me somewhere for a internship with 2 other students, but the other students wasnt as technical as i was, and the boss saw that i knew my shit and he needed assistant, so kept me, i work for about 3weeks free, then after i was offically on the payroll, and lets say for a 20yr who didnt go to college yet, am getting paid a good amount of money. there is my little story.... I like when ppl share stories like this

For the next four years unfortunately. I should have just gone straight into law enforcement. Sal

Since my discharge that is what I have chose to do. Applied to be a CO in Illinois, and Louisiana. Hoping one will get back to me soon.

Speaking of which, I recently had to get my knees evaluated by a Navy doc to see if there's anything wrong with them that could interfere with my ability to carry out any and all duties. I haven't gotten word back yet so I'm not sure whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.
